§ 8-4-83. Locations prohibited.

  • No sign, other than a city street sign, shall be attached to or painted on any utility pole, tree, rock or other natural object. No signs other than those signs erected by public governmental agencies and signs required by law shall be placed so as to overhang any portion of public properties with the expressed exception that in a C-1 zone one (1) sign per business will be allowed and said sign only be installed to overhang a public sidewalk, under the expressed condition that said sign shall not exceed sixteen (16) square feet in size and it shall not be erected in any manner so that any portion of said sign shall hang less than ten (10) feet above the level of the sidewalk or other pedestrian thoroughfare. It is further directed that said sign must be securely attached to the business in such a manner that its installation is done in a firm and safe manner and installed in such a way as to conform in its installation to the building code requirements of the City of Sandersville.
